Seunghyuk Jung’s APPT Manila Run: Super High Roller Champion and Main Event Finalist

South Korea’s Seunghyuk Jung left APPT Manila 2026 with two major accomplishments from the festival.

First, he won the ₱300,000 APPT Super High Roller.

Then he came within three players of winning the Main Event.

Jung defeated Japan’s Yukishige Doi heads-up in the Super High Roller to capture the title and approximately ₱4.2 million. The tournament attracted 47 entries and produced a ₱12.7 million prize pool.

Just days later, Jung was back at the Main Event final table.

The ₱80,000 Main Event had produced a record 1,413 entries, with ₱97.67 million eventually distributed among 207 players.

Jung survived all the way to the final three.

His opponents at that stage were two of the Philippines’ most established players: Mike Takayama and Florencio Campomanes.

Jung’s elimination came after Campomanes completed his extraordinary recovery from just 125,000 chips. Campomanes’ comeback left Jung short, and he eventually committed his remaining chips against Takayama.

Takayama’s pocket eights held, sending Jung to the rail in third place for ₱6,955,000.

The result made Jung one of the most successful players of the entire APPT Manila festival.

He had already secured a major high-roller title and then followed it with a deep run in the biggest tournament of the series.

Although the Main Event title ultimately stayed in the Philippines, Jung’s back-to-back performances established him as one of the standout international players of APPT Manila 2026.
