Toru Sakiyama Wins the Record-Breaking Mini Main Event
Japan continued its strong performance at APT Incheon with Toru Sakiyama winning the festival’s Mini Main Event.
Sakiyama overcame a massive 1,427-entry field to capture the title and KRW 189,982,000.
The Mini Main Event carried a KRW 900,000 buy-in and a KRW 400 million guarantee.
The final prize pool reached approximately KRW 1 billion.
The tournament’s size made it one of the biggest fields of the festival outside the Main Event.
Sakiyama’s victory came during the closing stages of APT Incheon, giving Japan another major title before the festival concluded.
The Mini Main Event also awarded the champion a seat to the APT Championship in Taipei.
That made the tournament especially attractive to players looking for both a significant cash prize and a pathway into the APT’s flagship championship event.
APT Incheon therefore finished with another large-field Japanese winner.
Sakiyama joins the growing list of players who turned the Incheon festival into a career-defining tournament.
