APPT Manila Builds Toward Its ₱60 Million Main Event
With the APPT Open completed, the focus at Okada Manila turned toward the centerpiece of the festival: the APPT Manila Main Event.
The Main Event carries an ₱80,000 buy-in and a ₱60 million guaranteed prize pool, making it by far the largest guaranteed tournament of the Manila festival.
The tournament is scheduled to run from August 6 through August 10, with four starting flights before the surviving players return for the later stages.
Players receive a 30,000-chip starting stack, while the opening levels run for 40 minutes. The structure gives players significantly more room to maneuver compared with many of the faster side events running alongside the Main Event.
The Main Event also represents the culmination of a festival that began with accessible ₱10,000 events and progressively moved toward six-figure buy-ins.
The high-stakes side of the schedule has simultaneously been active. The ₱300,000 APPT Super High Roller, carrying a ₱5 million guarantee, was scheduled alongside the opening Main Event flights.
As players began gathering for the Main Event, the question became whether APPT Manila could continue the strong participation seen in its earlier headline tournaments.
