Kim Giboum Takes PokerStars Red Dragon for ₱4.55 Million
The PokerStars Red Dragon became one of the biggest early events of APPT Manila 2026, attracting a strong field and eventually producing a major victory for South Korea.
Kim Giboum captured the Red Dragon title and collected ₱4,550,000, approximately US$74,005, for the largest payday of his career.
The ₱50,000 buy-in tournament carried a ₱15 million guarantee. By the time registration closed, the event had reached 599 entries, generating a prize pool of ₱25 million. Eighty-seven players finished in the money.
The field included players from across Asia and a strong contingent of Filipino regulars, continuing the international character of the APPT series.
The Red Dragon has also become a familiar feature of PokerStars LIVE Manila festivals. Its position in the schedule gives players a major championship opportunity before the APPT Open and Main Event take center stage.
For Giboum, however, the tournament became much more personal. The victory represented his first major title and a career-best cash.
As the Red Dragon concluded on August 3, the festival moved into another important stage, with the ₱60,000 APPT Open becoming the next major championship on the schedule.
