APPT Manila 2026 Ends With a Record Field and a Filipino Champion
APPT Manila 2026 has officially closed at Cove Manila, Okada Manila, with a record-breaking Main Event and an all-Filipino championship showdown providing the final chapter.
The festival ran from July 28 through August 10, with the Main Event running August 6–10. The official schedule featured ₱132 million in guaranteed prize pools across the festival’s major tournaments.
The headline event delivered beyond expectations.
The ₱80,000 APPT Main Event attracted 1,413 entries, creating a ₱97,666,560 prize pool—well above the ₱60 million guarantee. It became the biggest APPT Manila Main Event in the tour stop’s history.
The final table then produced a finish that was particularly significant for Philippine poker.
Mike Takayama and Florencio Campomanes reached heads-up, guaranteeing that the championship would remain in the Philippines.
Takayama ultimately defeated Campomanes to claim ₱15,530,000, the APPT Shard Trophy and an APPT Championship package.
Campomanes earned ₱9.7 million for second place after surviving with just 0.15 big blinds during three-handed play.
South Korea’s Seunghyuk Jung finished third for ₱6.955 million, adding a third international dimension to a final table that also included Filipino Fernan Co, Taiwan’s Yang Yung Mao, Singapore’s Haresh Nathan and Steve Ng, and South Korea’s Joungsun Kim and Jaehyung Park.
The final nine also reflected the international reach of the festival, while the championship itself highlighted the strength of the Philippine poker community.
Takayama’s victory was particularly meaningful because an APPT Main Event title had remained absent from his résumé despite years of major tournament success.
Now he has one.
And he won it at home, in front of a large group of supporters, in the largest APPT Manila Main Event ever played.
