The World Poker Tour (WPT) is returning to Australia with WPT Australia 2026, scheduled to run from September 10 to 30, 2026, at The Star Sydney.

The festival will feature a full schedule of tournaments, with the headline WPT Australia Championship carrying a A$5,000 buy-in. The championship event will feature 60-minute blind levels and three starting flights, giving players multiple opportunities to enter the tournament.

The 2025 edition delivered a strong turnout, with the A$5,000 Championship attracting 600 entries and generating a A$3 million prize pool, approximately US$1.98 million.

Australia’s Alan Pham captured the title after an impressive run through the field, earning A$558,211, approximately US$368,417. The victory marked Pham’s first major tournament cash and established him as the local hero of the 2025 festival.

With the WPT returning to Sydney, the 2026 edition will once again bring international and Australian players together at The Star Sydney, with the Championship expected to be one of the major highlights of the Australian poker calendar.
