Stephen Pang Wins Record-Breaking APT Incheon Main Event

INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA — Hong Kong’s Stephen Pang has captured the biggest title of APT Incheon 2026, winning a record-breaking Main Event that attracted 1,393 entries.

Pang defeated China’s Shoumin Zhang heads-up to secure the title and KRW 411,180,000, approximately US$293,700.

The victory came after a three-way ICM deal involving Pang, Zhang and Japan’s Tempei Kotani. Pang nevertheless continued on to claim the official championship and the APT Main Event trophy.

The tournament generated a KRW 3,008,880,000 prize pool, more than doubling the original KRW 1.5 billion guarantee.

The 1,393-entry field also established a new record for an international poker tournament in Incheon.

Pang entered the final table as the chip leader with 13.55 million chips, holding 85 big blinds.

Zhang started second with 10.585 million, while Japan’s Tempei Kotani held 6.935 million.

The final table included five Japanese players, along with representatives from Hong Kong, China, Thailand and the United States, highlighting the international character of the event.

For Pang, the victory represents the biggest result of his live tournament career.

The Hong Kong player now leaves Incheon with the APT Main Event title, a major cash and a place in the history books.
